Operator Training Simulators for High Consequence Processes

Operator training continues to be very important as Baby Boomers retire and the Millennial generation assumes operational responsibility for industrial manufacturing.  Training by doing is proven as the most effective way to train operators using complex control systems on hazardous processes. The use of digital twin simulation for the process, the control system, the safety systems, and the spatial geometry of the physical process continue to evolve. Training operators for abnormal conditions, severe upsets, and hazardous scenarios is most effective with realistic simulation. This session will focus on new trends for operator training using evolving process, control/safety system, and spatial simulations.
