MSSP Strategies for OT Cybersecurity

An increasing number of industrial companies are considering use of third-party managed security service providers (MSSP) to strengthen their OT cybersecurity defenses.  They are expecting that this will help them address a variety of issues like lack of resources, lack of expertise for sophisticated attacks, and growing concerns about emerging security risks of digital transformation.  But selecting the right MSSP model for OT cybersecurity can be challenging.  What roles/activities should be outsourced?  What criteria should be used in evaluating different MSSPs for OT cybersecurity? What’s the best way to integrate MSSP and existing people, processes, and technologies?  What performance criteria should be used to manage the MSSP engagement?

The goal of this workshop is to help end users understand the issues and what peers are doing to use MSSPs in their OT cybersecurity programs.  This will be accomplished through a moderated discussion among end users about the major challenges, strategies, and the lessons they have learned. Session attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in the discussion through polls, questions to the panelists, etc.

Leaders and decisionmakers in OT cybersecurity, IT cybersecurity, automation, IT, and operations can all benefit from this program.  They will gain a solid understanding of the challenges and actions that are needed to ensure successful use of MSSP support for OT cybersecurity.
