Kaeser Kompressoren
Uwe Grundmann, Head of Production Mobilair at Kaeser Kompressoren and Timothy Kaufmann, Business Development Director IoT and Manufacturing at SAP, will give an insight into the management of the asset lifecycle in Industrie 4.0 from the assembly to the service at Kaeser Kompressoren.
Industrie 4.0 can be a trigger for new business models. Kaeser is supporting their pay-per-use model selling compressed air with Industrie 4.0. This requires monitoring of the compressors and the compressor stations. In order to increase the availability of the compressor station and decrease downtimes the management of the asset lifecycle is essential: from the engineering, over the integration of production up to the service. In the production, Kaeser faces a big number of product variances with small quantities, requiring lot size 1 assembly and the maintenance of a digital twin, to have it available for the installation of compressor stations as well as for the service during the whole lifetime of a compressor.
To execute lot size 1 on the workplaces requires a comprehensive and configurated information flow from the product data model via variant configuration and manufacturing orders to the operation places, synchronized to the physical workflow. A sophisticated information logistic is required to implement lot size 1 with high variant products and low volumes. Therefore, an integrated approach and system is needed that provides order specific information from the product data model, variant configuration and the production order.
