After joining JSR Corporation in 1998, Masataka Masutani has provided his expertise in the areas of process development, plant design, and manufacturing staff. Since 2011, he has been in charge of plant operations as the production engineering team leader and then, the production engineering manager. Since 2016, he has been involved in smart manufacturing that incorporates drones and AI into chemical plants. On April 1, 2022, as ENEOS Corporation completed the acquisition of JSR's elastomer business, he transferred to ENEOS Materials Corporation, which ENEOS established to succeed JSR's elastomer business, and served as the division director of production technology division.
