Dr. Masuda graduated from the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, the University of Tokyo in 2010. He completed the master's course at the Graduate School of Science, the University of Tokyo in 2012, and the doctoral course in 2015 (Ph. D in Science). He majored in synthetic organic chemistry at the university. During his studies, he developed various organic synthesis reactions and catalysts, as well as analytical methods for quantitative monitoring of chemical reactions in suspensions. In the field of continuous manufacturing, Dr. Masuda has focused on flow fine synthesis using solid catalysts in particular. Later, he joined AIST as a postdoctoral researcher in 2019 and has engaged in research as an expert in flow synthesis. He was appointed to his current position in April 2022.
