After studying computational materials science at RWTH Aachen University and completing his doctorate at the Chair of Process Control Engineering at RWTH on the topic of automated Fieldbus engineering, Kai has been working in the DCS Team at BASF's Center of Expertise in Ludwigshafen since 2014. One focus of the activity is communication into the field from the DCS. Important tasks here are not only the support of international projects with knowledge and best practices about Fieldbus technology but also the testing of new technologies for use in the chemical process Industry. In this context, the introduction of PROFINET and APL is currently being promoted and standardized in NAMUR and PI is being supported by him.
