John has been integral in leading teams to enhance international automation/interoperability standards to support mining use cases of the “digital mine”. He currently contributes to Open Process Automation Forum work and has recently commenced a collaborative project that brings mining, oil and gas, academia, and technology organizations together to further contribute the OPAF work. The project will also establish the Energy and Resources Digital Interoperability (ERDI) I4.0 Test Lab at the University of Western Australia for R&D, testing, showcasing, and education of modular, interoperable technologies and architectures facilitating more rapid adoption and benefits realization at scale.
