Jan leads the initiative for automating Eastman’s corporate manufacturing sites and has strategic oversight for the SEIGA (Seamless Enterprise Global Access) Digital Innovation team. These teams utilize breakthrough technology and leverage system integration to provide superior engineering, procurement, construction, operations & maintenance solutions while rapidly accelerating implementation and adoption of new technologies, automated operations, and automated services in alignment with Eastman’s corporate specialty materials strategy. SEIGA was awarded the Chemical Engineering and Power Engineering magazine’s Game Changer Innovation Award in 2020. Jan also has responsibility for global engineering services, technology project engineering, annual capital project execution, construction excellence, and asset integrity engineering. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, a master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Tennessee and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Jan is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Tennessee and a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. She was honored with The Manufacturing Institute’s 2016 STEP Ahead award, the 2016 Purdue Outstanding Mechanical Engineer Alumni Award, and in 2022 the Purdue University Engineering Distinguished Alumni Award.
