At BASF, Jan worked in Engineering from 2011 to 2017 on capital investment projects in Belgium, Brazil, and Germany. Between 2018 and 2020, he was responsible for the global technology areas Industrial Internet of Things and Manufacturing Data Integration. In parallel he led the working group 2.8 Automation architectures at NAMUR, where he drove the development of the NAMUR Open Architecture concept in collaboration with ZVEI. Since October 2020, he is responsible for digitalization of the BASF smart Verbund project in Zhanjiang, Guangdong, China.
