James is the General Manager of Downstream Projects in the Americas for Shell, which includes renewable fuels, hydrogen, carbon capture, and sustainable chemicals projects.  He joined Shell in 2014 and held several roles, including the Chief Engineer for Discipline Engineering, General Manager of Systems Engineering, and Vice President of Quality & Continuous Improvement.  Prior to joining Shell, James worked at Bechtel in the EPC industry and spent 16 years in the aerospace industry, including 10 years at Boeing Rocketdyne developing and producing the world’s largest hydrogen rocket engine.  He also worked at Lockheed’s Advanced Development Programs division (a.k.a. the “Skunk Works”) and led mission assurance for missile defence and other production programs at Raytheon Missile Systems.
