After graduating from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering in 1979, Hiroshi Osaka has worked for five companies in his career. After working for six years as a petroleum refining engineer and seven years as a system engineer for industrial real-time systems, he became independent in 1992 and established Osaka Systems Planning to provide engineering services to the process industries in Japan and overseas. Since around 2010, he has been developing his business by going into the production sites of process industry customers, sorting out their business problems, and providing IT solutions suitable for the users. At the same time, he has been introducing software from overseas to the Japanese market, especially in the fields of operations management and process safety management. In 2014, he established j5Japan, which develops j5, an operations management system made by j5 International in Japan, and serves as its representative director. In 2019, following the M&A of j5Japan by the PPM division of Hexagon, a global leader in sensors, software and autonomous solutions, he became part of Japan Intergraph, the Japanese subsidiary of Hexagon PPM, where he currently serves as Representative Director and President of Manufacturing.
