Dr. Hiroaki Kanokogi became President & CEO of the newly established Yokogawa Digital Corporation, a Yokogawa Electric company, on July 1, 2022. The new company will focus on such businesses as management consulting services for manufacturers; DX/IT services using AI, IIoT, the cloud, and cybersecurity; development and provision of software services; and AI research and development including training programs. Previously, he had been with Yokogawa Electric Corporation since 2007. He was General Manager of Yokogawa Product Headquarters. He is pursuing the development, application, and commercialization of AI (machine learning and reinforcement learning) at plants and at other actual production sites. Dr. Kanokogi is one of the inventors of the FKDPP algorithm (reinforcement learning AI). He was previously engaged in machine learning application research and development at Microsoft Japan, and he holds a Ph.D. in Science from the University of Tokyo
