IT and OT have traditionally been kept apart, but what kind of power can you harness when you combine the power of the two? This DTC Asia event featuring guest speaker Dr Francisco Castillo will take you through the journey that water and wastewater company Maynilad Water Services of the Philippines traversed over the last decade in integrating IT and OT departments, developing an IoT platform, and using that platform to conduct data analytics initiatives and establish digital twins of its plants, to enable simulation in a contained, safe environment.
Dr Francisco Castillo is Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Maynilad Water Services, the water and wastewater services provider for the West Zone of the Greater Metropolitan Manila area in the Philippines. Aside from being in charge of the IT Dept, he also heads the Plant Automation & Industrial Design Depts, making Maynilad one of the first companies to have an integrated IT and OT setup. A Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), he is the author of the book Managing Information Technology (2016), holder of the patent, Utility Meter Reading and On-Site Utility Billing, and has a PhD in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the Universidad Politecnica de Cataluña in Barcelona, Spain.
