Pilot programs are now in progress to apply blockchain in industrial applications for both IoT and the supply chain. The multiple layers of cryptology with blockchain provide secure IoT data and document sharing among organizations. For IoT data, servers are assured that the connected IoT edge devices are valid. For document sharing, these systems replace manual processes using email, FAX, or surface mail. For supply chains, blockchain provides a secure, shared distributed database for a consortium of companies to improve their performance. Business rules called “smart contracts” can be imbedded in the blockchain to automate the associated business processes.
This session will explore these evolving applications for blockchain with case stories from those involved. Please come with an open mind.
