5G and private wireless both promise significant incremental connectivity performance improvements that meet the needs of digital transformed automation and autonomous operations. Improvements in cellular technology are leading to its increased consideration as a primary communications medium to meet the demands of these applications, including in place of traditional wireline technologies in production environments. This session will explore the expanding role of cellular and its advantages and disadvantages in mobile and indoor production applications as well as traditional remote access and monitoring.
