Ng Hock Cheong has worked at Denka Singapore since 1984 and has been involved in DCS engineering in the manufacturing process of acetylene black and has led digital transformation and Industrial IoT initiatives. Judicious technology deployment has resulted in significant improvements in asset performance, such as steam trap acoustic monitoring (for energy saving), utilities equipment online monitoring, and smart sensors installation on motors. Current projects with Emerson aim to further improve operational excellence through digitalization, and these include Nikkiso canned pump e-monitoring, leakage monitoring of PRV, and wireless pressure gauge installation.
