Jon is the technical lead for connected factories in the integrated manufacturing group at the AMRC and is a core contributor to Factory+, the AMRC’s smart factory framework. He has been working to connect machines across the AMRC so that the AMRC can stand as the exemplar for a connected factory. Jon originally started working at the AMRC in 2012, left in 2016 to study for his PhD in soft matter physics, and returned in 2021. In that time he has worked on a wide range of projects involving automation, metrology and connectivity. His recent work is focused on data acquisition from industrial machines and how this data can be used for both research and manufacturing purposes.
