Emerson Connected Services partnered with OSIsoft to develop applications that help its clients transform their businesses. Emerson leverages PI data and the OSIsoft PI Asset Framework (AF) to provide context to the data employed for its remote services offering.
To help ensure the integrity of the sensor-derived data as well as secure data transfer between the field and network edge; Emerson worked with both Dell and OSIsoft to connect to Dell’s secure Edge Gateway. They are developing applications for equipment health to enhance equipment availability, efficiency, utilization, and energy efficiency .“
Speaking at the recent OSIsoft User Conference, Nathan Pettus, VP North America, Process Systems and Solutions, Emerson Automation Solutions, told the audience that approximately “one trillion dollars in company value are lost every year to suboptimal operating performance.”
In one example of how digital transformation can help reduce these types of losses, he mentioned that Pemex took advantage of its partnership with OSIsoft and Emerson Connected Services to reduce its operator rounds by 67 percent and increase throughput by 20 percent saving them approximately $12 million in one year.
